The Showbiz Oracle
I've seen it all, darlin' — except whatever THAT was.
Season 1 · Now Casting Nationwide

One nation. Thirty-three million talents nobody knows about — not even the people holding them. This Christmas, the lights come on, eh.
Premiere — Christmas Day 2026 · 8PM ET
The Big Question
It's talent so profoundly hidden that not even you know it's in there. Until now.
Latent talent is the yodel buried deep in your throat. The choreography trapped behind your knees. The card trick your hands have been rehearsing since birth without telling you. It's the thing your uncle weirdly insists you'd be great at, for reasons he cannot explain.
Other shows hunt for talent you already know you have. Where's the drama in that? Canada's Got Latent flips the script: we put you on stage first and find out together, live, as a nation. Consider it the country's largest acts of mutual surprise.
Canada is sitting on an estimated 33 million undiscovered talents — roughly one per Canadian, eh. Our fully certified panel of judges has sworn a solemn oath to drag every last one of them into the spotlight, whether they like it or not. (They will like it. Everyone likes it eventually.)
“Everybody's got something hiding in them. Some folks have a voice. Some have moves. One fella in Sudbury had an entire circus. Nobody knew, including him. That's the magic we're broadcasting, eh.”
Canadians still blissfully unaware of their talent
Golden Maple Leaf trophy up for grabs
legendary judges with zero mercy
idea what you can do (yet) — and that's the point
The Journey
Four stages. One golden trophy. Zero idea what happens next — that's the format.
Step up to the mic in a city near you. Ninety seconds to show us whatever's been hiding in there. Yes — even that thing. Especially that thing.
Our judges narrow the field to the most gloriously latent acts in the land. Bring a toque — the deliberations get chilly and someone always cries (Bubbles).
The nation votes weekly from their couches, cheese curds in hand. No pressure, just prime-time television and approximately one apology per commercial break.
One act lifts the Golden Maple Leaf and becomes a legend of the True North. Everyone else receives a very sincere, nationally televised 'sorry'.
The Panel
Certified legends, all. Between them: 11 platinum records, 4 Junos, 2 memoirs, and one golden buzzer with a hair trigger.

I've seen it all, darlin' — except whatever THAT was.

The Pop Sovereign
Notes so golden they hurt.

The Rock Sage
That was loud. I liked it.

Keeper of the Golden Buzzer
I'm not crying, there's fog in my eyes.

Your Host, Ladies & Moose-entlemen
Host & National Treasure
“I've hosted every show since the forest got cable, and this one's special, eh. Somewhere out there is a person who can yodel the Hockey Night theme. We will find them. We will give them a trophy.”
The Categories
Known categories, wildcard divisions, and the beautifully unexplainable. If you don't know what your talent is — even better.

Shower voices, car karaoke, forest yodelers — all welcome.

From kitchen tap-dancing to aggressive folk stomping.

Card tricks, sawed-in-half cousins, suspicious coin work.

Good dogs doing suspiciously talented things.
…and the Wildcard Division
Alpine cries from Muskoka to the Rockies.
One log. One lawn chair. Ninety seconds.
Triple-sorry combos score extra. Sorry.
Interpretive driveway clears after fresh powder.
Two resurfacers. One rink. Zero chill.
Holding doors until the heat death of the universe.
Don't see your talent listed? Perfect — that means it's properly latent. Select “Other Latent Mystery” on the audition form and surprise us all, eh.
Canada Decides
One vote per person — this is a democracy, not a snowball fight. Results update live-ish, depending on the zamboni crew.
The Main Event
Ninety seconds is all it takes to find out what's been hiding in you all along. The stage is warm. The moose is waiting.
This Season on CGL

Auditions Week 1
The nation's latent talent wakes up on national television. Forty acts, one moose, and absolutely zero clues what's about to happen. Merry Christmas, everybody.
Judges' Callbacks
The judges deliberate, apologize, and deliberate some more. Somebody presses the Golden Buzzer and Bubbles presses it emotionally. New Year, new talent nobody knew existed.
Live Semi-Finals
Live from Toronto: the latent goes loud. Canada votes from their couches, and honestly? Nobody is ready. Not even Moosie, and he's contractually required to be.
Fair Questions
Politely answered, in the order the moose received them.
